If you are equipping a hotel and looking for a Romanian supplier, you will find plenty of companies offering hotel textiles. Far fewer of them actually make what they sell. This article explains what changes when you buy from a workshop that cuts and sews its own goods: how to tell a maker from a trader, what can be customised, how prices are quoted, and exactly what information to prepare before you send a request for quotation.
The examples come from how we work at Brodank, a workshop in Comarnic, Prahova County. The atelier has been running since 1991 and the company has been registered since 2003. The questions, though, apply to any Romanian manufacturer you shortlist. Use them on us and on our competitors.
Own production or resold import
Most suppliers of hotel textiles fall into one of two groups. The first buys finished goods in bulk, usually imported, stores them and resells them. The second buys fabric and makes the finished article. Both can serve a hotel adequately. They behave very differently the moment your order stops being standard.
A trader is limited by what arrived in the container. If the stock duvet cover is 200×220 cm and your duvets are 210×230 cm, the answer is no, or wait for the next shipment. Prices track the import price, which moves with freight and exchange rates. A repeat order two years later may not match the first batch, because the article has been discontinued and replaced with something similar.
A manufacturer works from a cutting table. Size is a setting, not a constraint. We cut and sew in our own atelier, so a non-standard bed, an unusual mattress shape or a colour matched to your rooms is an ordinary job rather than an exception. How to tell which one you are talking to
- Ask where the goods are sewn, and in which town. A manufacturer answers with an address.
- Ask for a size five centimetres away from standard. A trader hesitates; a maker asks for your exact measurements.
- Ask what happens if you reorder the same article in eighteen months’ time.
- Ask whether logo embroidery is done in house or subcontracted.
- Ask for the fabric name and composition, not just a product name and a photograph.
What can be made to your specification
Personalisation is where an in-house workshop earns its place. Three methods are common, and they can be combined in a single order. Whichever you choose, the item itself is made to your dimensions, shape and colour.
- Embroidery with your logo, on towels, bathrobes, pillowcases and bed linen.
- Woven jacquard, where the logo or pattern is part of the fabric structure rather than applied to the surface.
- Printing of your logo or motif.
- Made-to-measure dimensions, shape and colour, which matters for older buildings, custom beds and irregular mattresses.
Fabric choice sits alongside personalisation. Prices, and what a „from” figure means
All figures below are in Romanian lei, excluding VAT, and they are entry-level prices. The final price depends on fabric, weight, finished size, personalisation and order quantity. We publish them so you can build a rough budget before you contact anyone.

Treat the table as a starting point, not a quotation. Where a line reads priced on request, the item is quoted against your specification rather than from a list. Damask linen with woven jacquard costs more than plain percale; the figures in the table describe the simplest specification, not your final one. How a request for quotation works
There is no shopping basket. This is business-to-business supply, so every order is priced against a specification. That sounds slower than clicking buy, and for a single item it is. For a hotel ordering several hundred pieces it is safer, because the sizes are confirmed before anything is cut.
What to prepare before you write
A quotation is only as good as the information behind it. Have these ready and we can price the job without a second round of questions about missing details.
- Number of rooms, and the bed mix: singles, doubles, twins, suites.
- Mattress dimensions, including depth. Depth is the detail most often forgotten, and it decides the fitted sheet.
- Duvet and pillow sizes you already use, or a note that you want us to propose them.
- Quantity per item, and how many sets you want per bed. If you are unsure, the guide on linen sets per bed works through the arithmetic.

- Colour, and whether the linen goes through an in-house laundry or an external industrial laundry.
- Personalisation: your logo file, the method you want, and where it should sit on the item.
- Delivery address and the date you need the goods on site.
- Whether this is a one-off fit-out or the first of repeated orders. It changes how we plan the fabric.
What comes back
You receive a written price per item and per line, based on your specification, with the fabric and weight named. Where a detail is missing we ask rather than assume. Delivery and orders from abroad
We deliver throughout Romania. Requests from outside Romania are discussed individually, so ask and we will tell you plainly whether we can serve you. We would rather say no early than take an order we cannot deliver properly.
A short checklist before you commit
- Do you have the price per item, excluding VAT, in writing?
- Is the fabric named by composition and weight, not just by adjective?
- Have you confirmed the finished sizes, including mattress depth?
- Do you know who does the embroidery, and have you seen it on the actual fabric?
- Can the supplier repeat the same article for your next order?
- Have you checked that the textiles are made for repeated industrial laundering, which is where hotel textiles are put under the most strain?
Work through that list with any supplier, Romanian or otherwise. A manufacturer with its own atelier should be able to answer every point without leaving the room.
